FREEBIE! FREEBIE! First Day of Preschool FREEBIE!

I got inspired by all the super cute chalkboards that all my friends were making for the first day of school.  But, I'll admit it, that looks like a lot of work to do every year!  Plus, I really don't have a steady hand and I can't write on a straight line.  Now you know my secret and why I love the digital world!

So, I whipped up a digital board and decided in honor of this first week of school here in Texas I would make it my first FREEBIE!  I taught 4th grade so I know how crazy that first week of school can be for everyone.  So, here's to keeping it easy and going digital!

These are the ones I did for my kiddos.  Pretty cute, if I do say so myself!

The technical stuff before the fun...
Just a quick note before you download the FREEBIES-  Only open the editable PDF files in Adobe Reader.  If you're on a Mac just know that Editable PDFs don't play well with the Mac Previewer.  You can download Adobe Reader for FREE so no worries!  Included in the zipped file will be instructions for editing in Adobe Reader if you've never done this before.  It's super easy!

Also, if you want the exact fonts I used, download those first before you open the file and start editing.

FREE Fonts I used:
Chalkhand http://www.dafont.com/chalk-hand-lettering-shaded.font
FFF Tusj http://www.dafont.com/fff-tusj.font
Grutch Shaded http://www.dafont.com/font-comment.php?file=grutchshaded
Kraft Nine http://www.dafont.com/search.php?q=Kraft+Nine
Return to Sender http://www.dafont.com/return-to-sender.font

So, finally to the great part...the link to your FREEBIES!!!
http://www.grantavenuedesign.com/freebies/first-day-of-preschool-school-board/

Just add it to your cart.  It takes a few minutes for the order to be completed before the link will be available on your "My Orders" page so if you need it right away just go to your email and you'll have a link waiting for you.

Send me pictures of what you made!  Enjoy!

It's a Bird, It's a Plane,...It's a New Party Kit!

Woohoo! I finished the new Superheroes Printable & Editable Party Kit this week! There are so many goodies in this kit.  There are even 5 files that are EDITABLE so you can personalize your party.  Don't worry if you have never used an Editable PDF file before.  It's super simple and all you need is Adobe Acrobat Reader, which is FREE.  All you have to do is type over all of my sample text with your wording!

I couldn't help myself,  I immediately started printing and cutting.  My twins' birthday party is coming up in September and I like to have everything ready way in advance.   I couldn't resist whipping up this centerpiece before I raced out the door to pick the kiddos up from camp.

Of course, when their birthday rolls around in September I will post more pictures.  I can't wait to see the fabulous parties you will all have with your very own Superheroes!

Superhero Party!

My sweet boys are turning 4 this year and they are all about Superheroes.  They call each other "Batman" and "Superman."  I love watching their imaginary games that they both seem to know the unspoken rules for.  Twins are funny that way!  Sometimes I watch their little sister, who is 2 1/2, try to get in on the games.  She has to watch and just jump in there because they don't slow down to explain!

So, of course, we have to have a Superhero party!  Anyone who knows me knows that I like to go all out with decorating for their party every year.  I usually start months and months in advance so I feel a little behind this year.

Here's a little sneak peek of the party printables I'm working on!

One of my boys, Lincoln, saw me working on the art for these and saw the superhero with blond hair and said "Hey!  You're drawing me!"  Let me explain: He doesn't think that's him because of the blond hair, he thinks that's him because it looks like Batman, who he does think he looks like.  Seriously, this child wore a plastic Batman mask every day for months.  He would get all sweaty but refused to take it off unless it was bath time or bedtime.  He cracks me up!

Here's the invitation!  My Mom had all the kids in the family take pictures of the thing they were "into" at the moment.  The boys were super excited about posing with their capes and masks!

I'll keep you posted on when the party printable kit will be in the store.  An added bonus- it will EDITABLE
